Beautiful Handmade Cards and Prima Inspriration Easter Paint Can

During a recent Easter Paint can swap, I had two partners who created some of the most beautiful items, cards, cans and blessed me with so many scrapbooking, crafting items. I recieved 3 of the most beautiful handmade cards that have so much detail, ribbon, bling and embossed paper, and much more. I think the cards and the Paint can were my most favorite from my wonderful partner -*Kristina*-.

Another surprise in the package was the most adorable "cupcake" towel holder wrapped with purple mesh type materials. Kristina is so talented. These would make wonderful hostess gifts, bridal shower gifts, wedding gifts, parties and much more. It is so beautiful I don't have the heart to use it at the moment.

Vintage Inspired Custom Tags and Easter Paint Can

I was recently in a Easter Paint Can swap, and recieved some of the most beautiful and wonderful items. One of my partners created these 4 beautiful tags which I think are some of my most favorite in the entire package. I would like to pay homage and respect to this wonderful artist, her Message board name is Scrappin_RN on the Cricut board. All 4 tags have been distressed, inked, and given their own personality. There are prima flowers on 2 of the tags along with brads. One o the tags has the word Memories done in glitter, and it is so beautiful. The other tag with the prima flower has the simple but wonderful quote: Life is Sweet. The thrid tag has been distressed and has the words: Live, Laugh, Love. Last but not least, is a beautiful vintage looking sunflower tag. These are so beautiful that instead of hiding them away, I am planning on matting and framing them. She also made me one of the most beautiful paint cans decorated with the letter E on the lid. The box was overflowing with scrapbooking, crafting supplies. I heard about a designer called Tim Holtz, but did not own anything of his until now. I totally love those products, chipboard, stamps and others. Next time you go to your local scrapbooking store, check out the Tim Holtz line, you won't be disappointed. Altered Easter Paint Can Design

     
     Altering items and giving them new lives, is very exciting for me. Recently, I joined an Easter Paint can swap on a messageboard that I belong to. The rules were simple: Design and alter a paint can that your swap partner would love, and fill it with all sorts of crafting/scrapbooking/personal items that your partner would love. I went to Michael's craft store and they had a great line of scrapbooking paper, stamps and other embellishments. On the lid I distressed a round fitted piece of paper, attached a bird tag, added prima (paper) flowers, and a brad. Then I took out one of the latest rubber stamps I bought that had a chandelier on it. I used a silver stamp pad and stamped the lid. The paper was attached using double sided tape. The hardest part of the entire can was to cut the paper in the right places so that the handle wouldn't be hard to reattach and for a more finished "Look."  I contacted each of my partners, and although this was supposed to be an Easter "looking" can, they wanted a can that could be used year round.I enjoyed making them so much that I made one for myself in the same papers.

Hunter's Dinosaur Busy Can

My son Hunter loves Dinosaurs and so one day I decided to make him a "busy can." Basically, he could fill it up with toys that would fit in the can and we weren't hauling every little thing under the sun or that did not fit in the can. Sometimes, I would add snacks to it and little surprises. I used a brand new, never been used paint can that I bought at the local hardware store for $1.99. Sure, I could have bought one at a LSS (Local Scrapbook Store) but then I would have paid 3-4 times more. I used modge podge to decopauge the scrapbook paper onto the can. The cricut cart "Paper Doll Dress Up" was used to create these little dinosaurs. You would not believe all the positive reactions I would get when Hunter took the can with him to some of my doctors appointments or to visit a friend and he would sit and play with out making a scene. Once, the can was dried I added a sealer so that it could be easily wiped off for sanitary reasons. He still has the can and we take it on trips. It truly helps cut down on a ton of extra toys in the van.
