Three years ago, my grandparents celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary which is a major accomplishment these days. I wanted to pay homage to their love and devotion and created a sort of shabby chic heritage page. I found some really nice pearl brads in the wedding section at Michael's craft store. I used a Fiskars border punch, decorative scissors, photo corners, ribbon that says: True love, and some litte sayings. This has to be an all time favorite for my. The Anna Griffin paper really makes the picture stand out.

I truly enjoy using simple but adorable embellishments to create a scrapbook page Layout (LO). I was at a local craft store and found a beautiful selection of Anna Griffin embossed rose paper. I used a Fiskars punch that had little hearts. I bought some velvet charm ribbon that reads: Adore. The ribbon charm reminds me of Victorian chokers. I wanted to give the page a little more meaning and so I put a quote on the page that reads: Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale- Anonymous  I used some gemstone brads to attach that to the page.  The simplicity of this page creates a serene ambiance for whatever photo that will be placed here.

   I have been often called a Victorian Woman trapped in a modern day ladies body, thus my love for everything elaborate, Victorian, and art. My home is decorated and pays homage to the Victorian era, and I have many antique pieces. For those who do not know, the toile pattern was very popular amongst the Victorian people and often depicted a two color pattern that consisted of children playing, a couple courting, pastorial images and they were often multiplied throughout the fabric, wall paper and other items. I recently came across one of the prettiest pink and white paper toile of children playing from the Anna Griffin paper line. I bought up every sheet that was available and I am so glad I did as the pattern has now been discontinued.

Tip: If you see a paper or embellishment that you love, buy it. There is no guarantee that the pattern will continue and you will be left without.

This page was created by me for a Birthday Swap I was in where I was to make elements for a 12”x12” Girl’s Birthday. I decided to create a very girly and delicate, feminine page. This page took me 3 hours to create and design and included photo mats, journal boxes, embellishments, bling, craft foam, and other items to bring life to the page. I have included a journal box that has the little dress placed in the center, when you open the holder up a little pink bird greets you. I used 2 inch wide pink and white gingham ribbon as a page border. Red chenille fibers were used to create the balloon strings. I used my Cricut cutting machine to cut the little dress, Birthday Girl Embellishment, balloons, and a silhouette of a little girl blowing out a candle. I used the following Cricut Cartridges: Happiliy Ever After, and A Child's Year. The paper was used from a large paper assortment.

Shabby Chic Altered Rose Notebook

      I use notebooks all of the time, but was never able to find one that was truly unique. I took a yellow lined paper pad about 5 inches by 7 inches that I found at Wal-Mart. I then took a glue gun to attach a yellow cardstock to the front and partially in the back. I used an Anna Griffin paper and cut it to size. I used a Fiskars “Icing on the Cake” border punch around the edges. I took a paper flower called a prima and a brad to make the notebook special. Then I used double sided tape to adhere the floral paper to the yellow cardstock. These make great last minute gifts to give to that person who has everything. I have a special notebook that matches each of my purses so I can coordinate my accessories even if I don’t match my clothing.
