Only You True Love Scrapbook Page

I enjoy playing around with different color schemes and so I was wanting to do a page with warm winter colors for a Layout (LO). I used some prima flowers, Brads, Pre-printed Words and phrases, distressing inks, bling, photo mats.

Song-Themed Scrapbook Page

It seems that many scrapbook pages have a theme to them and so I took it upon myself to create a Song- Verse Themed Page. I used a verse from my wedding song by AeroSmith "I could stay awake, just to hear you breathing, I could stay lost in this moment forever..." I made a 2- page Layout with various sized photo mats and included little areas for journaling. If you are stumped for a scrapbook layout, think about a song that means something to you or someone you care about and create you version of what you think that verse page should look like...

Scrapbooking Major News Events for Future Generations...

During each person's lifetime, there are many minor and major newsworthy events that take place. Sure we read about our history in school text books, but if you haven't been to school in awhile and happen to thumb through a newly published text you may find some of the past events altered in small ways. I feel that it is important to document life's experiences as they happen because in some way they have altered your life and everyone that you come into contact with. Most people remember what they were wearing, what they were doing, where they were when there was a moment during that day that would forever alter the lives of many. I wanted my children to understand the significance of 9-11 and how that affected my personal life and my friends and family. I printed out many pictures showing that days events and days that followed and scrapbooked those into a special scrapbook for Newsworthy events. I have decided that I would save my "journaling" for these type of pages and how they would forever alter our lives. I have been asked by others who view my pages, why I would do a page on Saddam or when the Pope died, even the infamous Anna Nicole Smith. It is because in some way they made an impression on me. I do believe these pages will be important one day because it was history through my eyes and I feel that future generations will want to know the experiences of those whose lives were forever altered by a newsworthy event.

My Mother, My Friend Heritage Scrapbook Page

This is one of my favorite scrapbook pages of my mother and me. I took a small picture of us and made it larger. I used several K& Company stickers and Anna Griffin Paper. I thought that it was clever to use the stickers to put the phrase "My Mother, My Friend" a little on the picture and some on the page. Mother, I love you so much!

A Random Act of Kindness from a Dear Friend Michelle

A few days ago, I went to my mailbox and found a package there that brought a huge smile to my face. Recently, I have met so many wonderful ladies on the Cricut Messageboards and we have a tendinacy to mail RAK's (Random Acts of Kindness) to those we feel need a little spirit lifter from time to time. Michelle created a beautiful handmade card which she embellished and altered and sent me some amazing little Victorian Embellishments which I will use soon. I just wanted to thank her publically and show the world that something as simple as a nice card or letter can make the differance in a person's life.

Grandma Brown's Childhood Heritage Scrapbook Page

When I recieved this picture of my Grandma Brown as a child holding her large doll and cuddling her favorite doggy, I decided a black, white and silver them was befitting to the page. I used Cat's Eye Chestnut Roan to distress the edges of the white page. I found silver glittery Chipboard letters at a local craft store, and then wrote a little note above the picture entitiled "To be Young Again." Grandma loved looking at this page when she came to visit.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice Scrapbook Page

Using some very "girly-girl" paper and wording, I decided to create a page that I could use in the future for my little precious nieces. I used rub-ons on the bottom corners and attached a plain journal box near the photo mat. To give it a little more "flavor" I added rhinestone bling on the photo mat.
